Small Aran cables can be a faff to knit, but you don’t need many complicated stitches for a beautiful effect. This cable is knitted in a wool blend, I have used a space dye yarn for the first half and an off-white to finish off the pattern.
Aran stitches originate from the Isle of Aran, it lies at the west coast of Ireland. Many regions around the world have there own stitches with their own unique character and the stitches of the isle of Aran are known for their diamonds, cables, twists and honeycomb textures. As mentioned before, cables and textures are an absolute must in todays knitwear.
